Learn how to resize an image while maintaining the aspect ratio and allowing for distortion using Kotobee Author.

With the Cursor

To make any changes to the size of the image, you will need to select the image, then resize from the bottom right corner.

Maintain the Aspect Ratio

Use this method to change the size of the image as a whole, without changing the appearance of the image.

  1.  Select the image that you want to resize. The image will appear blue.
  2. Place the cursor at the bottom right corner of the image. The cursor will change to a double-headed arrow.
  3. Hold the Shift button on your keyboard and the mouse's left button and move the mouse to resize the image. The image size will change instantly with the same width: height ratio.
  4. Release the mouse and shift button when the image is the size you want.

Allow for Distortion

Using this method will distort the image (stretch it or squish it).

  1. Select the image that you want to resize. The image will appear blue.
  2. Place the cursor at the bottom right corner of the image. The cursor will change to a double-headed arrow.
  3. Hold the mouse's left button, then move the mouse to resize the image.
  4. Release the mouse button when the image is the size you want.

Maintain the Aspect Ratio

To make sure your image does not get distorted when you resize it, change the percentage, not the pixels.

  1. Click px in the drop-down box next to the width size.
  2. Select %.
  3. Enter the percentage of the original size that you would like the new image to be.
You may enter it in the Width or Height box and the other will be set to Auto and will change automatically.
Example: Enter 50 for the picture to be half the original size.
Enter 200 for the picture to be double the original size.
  4. Click Edit (Create).

Your image will instantly appear in the new size.

  1. Click on the metric that you want to change (Width or Height).
  2. Enter the new metric in pixels.
  3. Click Edit (Create).

Your image will instantly appear in the new size and dimensions.
