Set Double and Single Page Views

Select from the Page View drop-down menu:

  • Auto displays all chapters in single page view, except the ones you set to be a double page spread. Learn how to create double page spreads. For fixed layout chapters only.
  • Double page if you want double pages throughout the whole book without specifying where particular pages land, select Double page view mode. Then set these additional options.
  • Single page displays a single page across the width of the screen. The page may contain the whole chapter with a vertical scrollbar, like reading a website. Alternatively, the chapter can appear on separate pages for horizontal navigation, as if reading a print book. Then set one additional option.

If you want your readers to choose the Page view setting, click on Enable next to Page view change.

Additional Single Page Option

These settings will apply whether the author or reader selects single page view.

Page scroll

When in single page view mode, you may choose whether the user can scroll through the chapter vertically using a scrollbar, like a webpage (click Enable), or swipe through the chapter horizontally viewing the content over several pages like a print book (click Disable).

If you want your readers to choose the Page scroll setting, click on Enable next to Page scroll change.

Additional Double Page Options

These settings will apply whether the author or reader selects double page view.

Single page on portrait

If you want the double-page view to switch to single-page view when the device is in portrait mode, click Enable.

Spread gutter

Determine the size of the gap between two pages in a double page spread. The default setting is zero pixels. Enter a value in pixels.

First double page

In the case of double page view, you may want the first chapter(s) to appear alone. Enter the chapter number you'd like to start displaying as double pages.
