Learn how to edit your hosted ebook.

As you edit your ebook, the online hosted ebook will be unaffected. Your readers will not see any changes, until you upload and publish your changes.

If you do not want the old version of your ebook to be online, until you finish updating it, then unpublish the old version.

Any changes to a chapter's contents may affect your readers' highlights, notes, and annotations in the same chapter. Other chapters will not be affected.


  1. Click on the Manage tab.
    The Manage screen will open.
  2. Click on Hosted Ebooks from the left panel.
    All your hosted ebooks will be listed in the main panel.
  3. Locate the ebook to be edited.
  4. Click Download to Edit, below the book title.
    A confirmation window will appear.
  5. Click OK.
    After your ebook downloads, it will open in the Edit screen in Kotobee Author.
  6. Edit your ebook.

    If you close the ebook file in Kotobee Author, it will automatically detach the downloaded copy from the online version and the steps for publishing edits will slightly differ.

  7. Once you're done, click Apply Changes Online at the bottom of the screen, to upload the edited version.
    A Confirmation window will open.
  8. Click Yes.
    The upload may take a moment.
    When it has been uploaded, a notification window will appear, informing you that your ebook is now hosted on the cloud. It is not yet published.
  9. Click the green Publish now button.Your updated ebook is now online for anyone to read.


If you click Close, your ebook will remain on the cloud, but you will need to publish it from the Manage tab for your readers to be able to see it.
